Laura Halley, PT, DPT has been part of the team at Progress Physical Therapy since 2015. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University then continued her education with completing residency through the Virginia Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy Institute from University of Virginia - HealthSouth in 2016. She obtained her Board Certification in Orthopaedic Specialty (OCS) in 2017. She has also obtained the Level 1 Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certification and is a Credentialed Clinical Instructor through APTA. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), Virginia Physical Therapy Association (VPTA), APTA Orthopedic Section, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT).
Dr. Halley is currently serving as a residency mentor in the Virginia Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Institute. Her specific interests include injury prevention, manual therapy, sports specific rehabilitation, and biomechanical running and swing analyses.
Dr. Halley is also a graduate of the College of William and Mary with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. She is a former ACSM certified personal fitness trainer and has held several roles in clinical research in undergraduate and graduate school. Her hobbies include tennis, golf, adaptive snowboarding, and spending time with family and friends.
